Role
Primary role is to lead and oversee the legal function for JPMorgan in Indonesia and on any legal issues impacting the Indonesia business of JPMorgan. Will act as the primary contact point for Indonesian country management for all legal matters.
Responsibilities
- Working closely with the onshore management, compliance and various offshore LOB lawyers on NBIAs and cross-LOB projects;
- Coordinating legal support across all LOBs in Indonesia;
- Providing legal support to compliance in providing responses to regulators (ie BI and OJK) and conducting any internal reviews or investigations;
- Working with the office of the secretary and compliance to establish and administer appropriate risk governance framework for the Indon entities of JPMorgan;
- Assisting in the development, implementation, monitoring and maintenance of JPMorgan’s corporate planning, policy, research, public relations, media outreach and promotion initiatives in Indonesia;
- Functioning as a link between the management and the various senior lawyers of the LOBs;
- Providing legal advice to onshore management of JPM in Indonesia;
- Providing legal analysis and oversight for the implementation of any new Global and US regulations on the Indonesia business of JPMorgan (eg FACTA, Dodd-Frank, EMIR etc);
- Responsible for assisting senior management in legal, credit and other support groups in reaching decisions applicable across LOBs for certain Indonesia legal issues (eg issues on taking and enforcing security, corporate authorizations issues, RRC etc);
- Representing JPM on industry-wide initiatives in Indonesia to ensure that JPM’s views are adequately represented;
- At least 8 years of PQE with the required qualification to practice in Indonesia.
- Strong understanding of regulations in Indonesia.
- Able to communicate well and work in a cross-functional team to achieve common goals.
- Ability to identify and escalate issues timely and appropriately.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize and respond to business needs and goals.
- Strong communications skills in English.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
